After 10 total hours racked up for the Left 4 Dead demo already, I’m experiencing what some (Me) might call Zombie Fatigue. Some friends and I have been blasting our way through the small levels on expert, and feel fairly competent at zombie deundeadification (copyright 2008). I think we will be able to hold off a full scale Zombie invasion, so the demo is now on the back burner until to game comes out on the 18th.
In the time I could have been playing l4d, I have spent rolling a fighting priest in WAR. I’m fairly certain I like it due to the slight, slight, similarities to Asheron’s Call 2’s Feral Intendant (Ethic recently found a fantastic old guide he made for the FI). Most obvious, to me, is the now called Divine Assault, which does reasonable damage, and heals your friendly target for 250% of the damage. For a bonus, it hits 4 times, so this is a fantastic HoT. I love using it for PvE, and it comes into play in RvR if I’m focusing on healing and not fighting. In relation to the Feral Intendant, it reminds me of Reap, which would stab your opponent and give you a percentage of health (and vigor, but that is unimportant here) back. It was a fantastic way to tank, and the same principle works in WAR. Mobs are attracted to damage, healers, and taunts. Smashing them with a hammer and healing yourself, or someone else, at the same time covers two of the three possible ways to piss them off. It is a solid way to hold aggro if you have no real tank. As for the WP itself, I love being able to heal myself in the middle of battle, but more importantly, I love the diversity, however small it might be. Whenever I am at a level considered low for a scenario, I take a back seat and let me heals flow. This is great because I still get xp/renown, and I don’t die as much. As a result of me dying less, the people around me tend to die less. When I get a bit higher, I’ll be glad to take up a two handed hammer and smash some face in the front lines.
On another note, I took up the free transfers from Mythic and moved my Order to Averheim.

It’s interesting to me to read your comparisons of the Warrior Priest in WAR to the Feral Intendant in AC2. Interesting to me because I never even considered it.
I created a WP on Averheim when I first started playing and that is really the only class I enjoyed of the few I tried. I’m going to have to revisit him now and pay more attention.
That is, if I can rip myself away from my recent Lord of the Rings Online obsession.
